Eucharistic Congress
The Council of Major Superiors of Women Religious (CMSWR) sponsored a Eucharistic Congress in Washington D.C., September 11-12. The theme for the congress was Sacrifice of Enduring Love. The aim of the conference was to draw the participants deeper into the realization that the Eucharist, as the source and summit of our lives, is the Sacrifice of Enduring Love. The Eucharist is the source of enduring love in our lives. Thirteen of our sisters traveled to Washington to attend the congress, which was a blessing for all. Many priests, religious sisters, and laity attended the event. Below left is a picture of the participants at one of the many talks. To the right, Sr. Maria Teresa gets to know a sister from another community.

New Mission House! Santa Chiara!

We opened our third mission house on August 9th. Sr. Faustina, Sr. Mary Rose, Sr. Maria Pio, and Sr. Eliana were able to move into our new house in Assisi Heights on Franciscan University's main campus (the old projects!). It has been an adventure for them in setting up a new house, but they are very excited to be living on campus and able to be more present to the students. Pictures are finally here!

New Youth Group Ministry Launched!
On September 20, the new Steubenville area youth group had it's kick-off night. Sr. Anne Marie Gill, TOR is the new youth minister for the group. While a lot of work went into planning the night, it was a great success and well worth all of the time and effort. See pictures below.

Vocation Events

Sr. Thérèse Marie and the vocations team have had a very busy month as well.Vocation Discernment Retreat September began with a Vocations Discernment Retreat. It is always a blessing to meet and share with young women who are seeking to discover the Lord's call for their lives. Some of the young women who attended the retreat are pictured to the right with some of the vocations team sisters.

On September 12, Sr. Thérèse Marie and Sr. Mary Markita went to Alive Again, a youth retreat day near Pittsburgh. The day included various talks and the Celebration of the Eucharist. It concluded with an outdoor Matt Maher concert. The sisters talked with many young people and shared about our community with them.

On September 18, Franciscan University held its annual Vocations Awareness Day. Hundreds of priests and religious converge on campus to share about their communities or dioceses with the many students who are interested in religious life or the priesthood. Sr. Thérèse Marie, Sr. Mary Markita, and Sr. Della Marie were blessed to represent our community. It is such a gift to share about our vocation with others. It is also a great time to meet and re-connect with other religious. Sr. Thérèse Marie was able to see Fr. Gabriel, CFR, an old friend. In fact, they were classmates all the way from first grade to graduation from college! (Interestingly, both are twins, both entered their community in 1998, and both currently serve as Vocation Director!) They are pictured below with Sr. Sarah Rose and Br. Pius, CFR.
