Fall Fun!
The Fall brought some wonderful opportunities for fraternal time together. Thanks to the Apostolate for Family Consecration we were able to go horseback riding on two beautiful October days (see below)! A rare treat for Sisters! We also had fun carving pumpkins.

Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving Day was filled with many blessings.. We had Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament available all morning before we celebrated the greatest part of Thanksgiving, Mass. We had a big meal with some guests from downtown Steubenville in the early afternoon. After the meal we had some recreation time to just hang out. Some Sisters were brave enough to play football with Anne, one of our candidates who was a professional women's football player before entering community. Some hung out by the fire and just talked or played games. . In the evening we have a tradition of sharing poems, stories, songs, etc. as an expression of gratitiude around the fire. It was a wonderful "family day". We also had a Come and See experience over Thanksgiving and were blessed with some vocation guests who are discerning.

Making KNown His Merciful Love

There were various minstries this fall. On top of our ongoing ministries, Sr. Thérèse Marie, Sr. Mary Catherine, and Anne (a candidate) went to Charleston, West Virginia to talk to the schools about vocations. The next day Sr. Thérèse Marie spoke at a Serra Club Event entitled "The Re-emergence of the Religious Vocation".

Sr. Tina Marie spoke to the pre-theologate students at Franciscan University to encourage them to have a deeper devotion to our Lady. The Sisters at Heart of Mary held a retreat for the women that they work with in downtown Steubenville encouraging them in their dignity as women.

We were involoved in many youth outreaches this fall. Sr. Anne Marie, Sr. Sophia Grace, and Sr. Elizabeth took the local youth group to the Diocesan Youth Conference. Sr. Maria Teresa and Sr. Carrie Ann went to Pittsburgh to attend a youth retreat. Sisters spoke to the diocesan high schools on vocations.

Also, Sr. Mary Catherine helped to lead a pilgrimage to Guadalupe, Mexico for seven days. She is pictured to the right with Fr. Bernard Murphy, CFR and some of the pilgrims in Mexico.
