God is Faithful to His Promises!
This past May we had many storms come through our area. One evening as the storm was tapering off, the sun peaked out, creating a beautiful double-rainbow (easier to see in the picture on the right). It was one of the most brilliant rainbows we have seen! The colors were amazing! We don't see it as a coincidence that it happened to be arching over our new Father of Mercy Chapel - it is God reminding us of His covenantal love, mercy and faithfulness!
In response to His faithful love, two of our sisters gave their complete fiat to the Lord. On June 6th, Sr. Joan Paule Portenlanger and Sr. Carrie Ann McKeown professed final vows. It was a beautiful day for the entire community! Below are pictures of the event.

"RUN for nuns" Marathon
On May 2, five of our sisters and some Pittsburgh seminarians were "carbed-up" and ready to run a 26.2 mile marathon in the rain as a way to support religious vocations. Emily Davis, who will be joining us this August was running in the Pittsburgh Marathon as a fundraiser to help pay off her loans before entering. Our sisters were given permission to run along side of her in "relay style" throughout the entire marathon...

Above are the five sisters who ran with Emily. From left to right: Anne, Sr. Maria Clare, Sr. Sophia Grace, Sr. Della Marie, and Katie. Below are the sisters who opted not to run in the marathon but chose to stand at the half way point of the race and cheer on all the runners (except for Anne on the left who ran)!

...The seminarians from the Pittsburgh Diocese decided to run the marathon as well as a fundraiser to help other women who are not able to enter religious communities because they are bound by their debt. It was a beautiful witness of the Body of Christ working together and supporting one another as we watched Emily surrounded by religious sisters and seminarians as she ran!...The seminarians from the Pittsburgh Diocese decided to run the marathon as well as a fundraiser to help other women who are not able to enter religious communities because they are bound by their debt.
